Atracții turistice - - “Bogdana” Convent

The Bogdana Convent was erected in 1660. It is made of stone and bricks, it has baileys and bell tower, and it is clubs-shaped, resembling Ştefan cel Mare’s necropolis in Putna. Solomon Bârlădeanu has donated estates, religious objects, books and silver treasures to the convent. The sanctuary has suffered many bad weather manifestations and robberies throughout the centuries.

After the Second World War, the convent enjoyed a rich monastic life, becoming the biggest convent in Bacău County. In 1979, the Episcopate of Roman Town started rebuilding the ancient monastic site and also inaugurated a storage museum that includes precious old books and Romanian medieval art pieces.
